It was seven in the evening and I came back home after playing a rugby

It was seven in the evening and I came back home after playing a rugby match with Brian's team and was severely sweating. I had a shower and pulled out a can of coke from the refrigerator and sat on couch with a headphone on my ears. I always liked to spend my evening in this way. Just then, I got a call from Frank who asked me if I wish to come out with him for a drink in a nearby pub. I was in no mood to go anywhere out specially after the tiring match I had in the evening. I said that I may not be able to come and he can try out someone else who can accompany him. He said that he had broken with his girlfriend some 2 weeks ago and that is the reason why he is looking for his old friends who can accompany him. I really felt bad hearing this and I finally agreed to go out with him. I met him at eight at his place and from there we both moved to a pub where we had spent hours during our college days. I asked him what went wrong with their relationship and he said that he met his girlfriend on a dating web site. I was amazed hearing this as I did not know if these dating websites had any existence. He told me that there are lots of dating websites available who help people get their dates but the dates given by such dating websites are ideally looking for guys who want to have short term relationships.
We ordered for a glass of beer and he started telling me how he met with that girl. He told me that he had registered himself in many dating websites and ultimately was able to find a girl through them. He met the girl in a restaurant and had a candle light dinner with her. He said that it was an exciting moment for him to meet his first blind date and was very pleased to spend an unforgettable evening with her. He also planned to settle down with her but things turned nasty when the girl told him that she was looking for a short term relationship and is not ready to settle down. After saying this, he broke down and tears rolled over his eyes. I could not see in tears as I knew he was badly hurt. I opened up my arms for him and told him "Hey buddy, let me hug you. You will certainly feel better". He came upon me and I hugged him tightly. I told him that this was a phase which everyone has to go through and he needs to calm down and try to concentrate on other productive things. We had another glass of beer and went to a restaurant. We spent some more time and I left him at his place. After hearing his story, I came to the conclusion that before registering on a dating web site, it becomes critical to know what we as an individual are looking for in our partner and our expectation should be displayed so that girls knows what we are looking for and does not hurts us.
